The first apple picking trip of the season

We ventured to Coloma, Michigan on Saturday to pick apples (Gala and Honeycrisp). I’ve been picking apples every fall since I was a kid, and I hope they will, too.

My mom found my grandma’s old recipe for apple cake and sent it to us, so we made it together. I have such a strong memory of making this cake the fall I was pregnant with Becca. My grandma was on hospice care at that point. I was only pregnant a few weeks, and I never had the chance to share the news with her. She would have so loved them both.

Here are a couple pics: IMG_8342IMG_8367IMG_8381IMG_8388
