We just got back from a trip to Los Angeles with the girls, and we had a busy trip brimming with visits to museums and the zoo, the beach, a farmer’s market, and on the last day we surprised the girls with a trip to Disneyland.
While a part of me thought I would be overwhelmed with Disney’s consumerist vibe, instead I felt overjoyed and quite moved by the fact that my kids were ecstatic moment after moment all day. They were delighted with the parade, laughed at a theatre presentation of Frozen, screamed and laughed on rides, and beamed when they met Rapunzel (Becca’s favorite). Jake cried upon entering the park, and I cried watching them gaze at the parade. Disney is magic; they really know what they’re doing there.
